The FCGQ course gives you 12 months of access to all contents.
Just your computer or tablet and the internet. Your course workbook will be in PDF format, so any app that allows you to read and fill PDFs will be helpful. You can complete your workbook digitally or print and fill it in by hand.
You will be required to download and install a secure browser (Inspera) in order to take the exam. The exam needs to be taken on a PC (Windows 8.1 and higher – we recommend Windows 11) or Mac (OS X 10.15 and higher) with at least 500mb free hard drive space, webcam (internal or external) and microphone. You will need a single screen for the exam and a broadband connection with a minimum speed of 0.15Mbps. The Inspera Exam portal does not run on Google Chromebooks, machines running Linux, tablets or cellphones.
FCGQ is completely self-paced, meaning you can do it full-time or flexibly at your own pace. However, your access to the course lasts for 12 months after registration.
Yes. Once you pass the exam Game Quality Academy will award your certificate which will be digitally secure so that any prospective employers can verify its authenticity. As a respected voice in the game quality landscape, your certificate from Game Quality Academy will boost your resume and be widely recognized.
The course has been developed to prepare you for the exam. If your first attempt does not go well, you can retake the exam at an additional cost of $149 per retake.

Yes! The course content is completely mobile-friendly, but the exam needs to be taken on a PC or Mac. Doing the tasks might be easier on a laptop. Still, great for watching lessons on the go!
This course is beginner-friendly and designed to teach you from the ground up. If you’ve played games and know your way around a computer, you’re already off to a good start but the FCGQ requires no prior knowledge or experience. Come as you are.
No, but you will get to work on test scenarios and mock projects that simulate real QA tasks in the game industry.
You’ll practice writing clear, professional bug reports according to industry standards. We do not provide licenses to any live tools, but the exercises are based on those real tools as guides.
While no course can guarantee a job, this one’s designed to get you job-ready with practical skills, industry insights, and guidance on what employers are looking for. There is no other course like this in the games industry.
Epic Games, PlayStation Studios, Ubisoft and Xbox Studios have been instrumental in the development of this unique program. They provided the industry expertise and experience needed to create a gold-standard foundational program that gives learners a solid platform for their career in Quality.
While they supported the development of the training program and exam, they do not actively support it. Certification does not guarantee a job at any studio. These studios have not vetted the people who teach the program and wont be held liable if people disagree with the training.
